its rare that people can get my attention and hold on to it for a long period of time. however, tatsuro has managed to do just that. not only is he an incredible vocalist for the legendary band mucc, but he is an enormous fashion influence to me. not many people can pull of his look. he is original and definitely stands out from the typical street fashion style. i think nylon should do a feature on him and take photos of his closet.

reunited

reunited with 2 of my very favorite people in the entire world, Hakan Celebi and Pinar Eris. the beautiful Quist Tsang from Hong Kong photographed Pinars new line. i instantly became a fan of her photography. her work is vibrant, full of life, with a psychedelic, vintagey vibe. pinars new line is so lovely!! her clothing is so much fun and i feel so lucky to have been working together since 2006! we had a great time running around downtown and hanging out in the loft. really looking forward to seeing the photos from this shoot! ♥

whenever i go to tokyo, i always stop by h.NAOTO and pick up a few things. his avant garde designs are genius, and even if you think its too over the top, there is something for everyone. there are 26 divisions under h.NAOTO.
i was lucky enough to work with him for 4 days while he was in los angeles to put on a fashion show with YOSHIKI. it was an inspiring opportunity, and i am very honored to call him a friend.

before my 5 year spiral into the 'spooky kid' style during high school, there was someone who inspired me to wear vintage slips, ripped stockings, and mary janes. this was when i was in 6th grade. i quit gymnastics and started taking guitar lessons. i sketched babydoll dresses and had my gramma make them for me out of pink satin, vintage lace, with giant bows.
in 1998 my best friends from sedona and i saw HOLE play and i think we were all completely blown away. we made signs covered in glitter hearts and waited for her after the show. but there were hundreds of people waiting. she ran by and waved, jumped in a limo and drove off. right after moving to LA i ran into her at a rehearsal studio. we walked by one another and she cracked a smile at me. my heart sank. what do you say to someone who has been beyond a huge inspiration?
